Lord Jagannath Baladeva and Subhadra Mayi stroll the streets of Talasari bestowing mercy

On July 5th, 2022, devotees of ISKCON Nilachal Vedic Village, Talasari, celebrated the chariot festival – The Ratha Yatra. This was the first time that the Ratha was taken outside the farm to the main market of Talasari and back. Despite heavy rains, hundreds of devotees participated in the yatra pulling the Ratha of their Lordships.

Under the expert guidance of His Grace Devakinandana Prabhuji, and the able leadership of His Grace Radhika Kanhai Prabhuji, the yatra was organized by the dedicated and enthusiastic community of Nilachal Vedic Village. Devotees from Surat, Vapi, Daman, Silvassa, Umbergaon, and Mumbai, joined the faithful devotees of Talasari in this service.

The Ratha started at the Temple, through the mushy farm lands onto the streets. While the devotees enthusiastically sang Kirtan of the Holy names of the Lord, pulling the Ratha, and encouraging people to participate whole-heartedly. The determination of devotees was a sight to behold, as the yatra was completely unaffected by rains, potholes, smaller roads, mud puddles, and many such obstacles. Nothing could stop them from serving the Lord.

108 bhoga items were offered to the Deities, which were then distributed among all the people has Mahaprasadam. More than 500 plates of prasadam were distributed among the villagers, and over 80kgs Hot Halwa Prasadam were distributed to all people taking Darshan of the Ratha throughout the Yatra. During the day Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Prasadam was also arranged for all the volunteers and visitors to the Farm.

Devotees were encouraged by Inspirational ISKCON Leaders like HG. Devakinandana Prabhuji, HG Kamal Lochan Prabhuji, and HG Damodar-dulal Prabhuji who were present throughout the yatra. Local MLA, Shri ___________ also graced the occasion and offered his Respects to the Lordships.

It was surreal to witness the mercy of Lord Jagannath Baladeva and Subhadra Mayi, as they left their abode and travelled in the streets infusing the hearts of all who were taking his darshan, with love.

We thank all the devotees who participated in this Yatra for their presence, and their services, through donations. May Lord Jagannath Bless you all. And pray that we continue to celebrate this glorious festival year after year getting better and better.
